Connecting Calgary
Calgary District Heating currently supplies thermal heat to 22 buildings via our Thermal Distribution System throughout downtown and the East Village. Our energy network is available to both new builds and retrofits, with relatively minor work required for existing buildings. Our network of connected buildings in the downtown core and East Village have demonstrated the reliability, cost effectiveness and efficiency of district energy systems. We are charting the path to carbon neutrality in the centre of Calgary!

Commissioned in 2012, Calgary District Heating Inc is constantly expanding and provides resilient, reliable, and sustainable space heating and domestic hot water to 22 buildings in Calgary’s East Village and Downtown core.
Studio Bell
Connected to our District Energy System since 2013, Studio Bell is home to The National Music Centre, amplifying Canada’s music story through exhibitions, concerts, and events. Their non-profit museum houses artifacts, recordings, and tidbits of music history.
New Central Library
Evolution Towers
With over 600 residential units heated by District Energy, Evolution Towers offers Calgarians the ultimate urban dwelling experience. Surrounded by amenities and local experiences, the Evolutions Towers are located just steps away from Calgary’s Bow River.
Telus Sky
Calgary’s Telus Sky building is a striking, 60-storey skyscraper that has become a standout feature of the city’s skyline. It houses both residential and office spaces being provided domestic hot water and spacing heating from District Energy 24/7/365.

Serving as the first building connected to the District Energy System upon its commissioning in 2010, the Calgary Municipal Building (City Hall) is a sleek, contemporary design and state-of-the-art facilities have become a community hub.
